Status Survey, Pre-purchase Survey

  • Inspection of a pre-purchase, valuation, or renewal of the insurance of a vessel.
  • Inspection of a pre-purchase, valuation, or renewal of the insurance of a vessel.
  • The inspection will be carried out with the boat afloat and on dry-dock, measuring the thickness or humidity of the hull depending on the type of construction of the vessel (Steel, Aluminum, Grp or Wood).
  • Non-invasive verification of the operation of systems in general such as Main Engines, Generators, Hydraulic Systems, Electrical and Electronic Systems.
  • Rigging in sailing boats.
  • Motor and sailing sea trials.
  • The Surveyor’s job is to assess the condition of the vessel, paying particular attention to the condition of the hull structure, propulsion, equipment and on-board systems. A written report with photos will be made where it will list the defects found during the inspection, together with recommendations for the repair.
The report can be used to negotiate final boat purchase agreements.

Nondestructive testing Surveys

  • We have the most advanced equipment for non-destructive testing to detect structural deficiencies such as the degree of humidity in a GRP hull.
  • Ultrasonic flaw detection (Measurement of thickness in metallic hulls, Steel, Aluminum.)
  • Ultrasonic flaw detection (Measurement of thickness in metallic hulls, Steel, Aluminum.)
  • Electronic moisture detection in GRP and Wood hulls.
  • Endoscopy with camera taking photos and videos.

Specific Surveys

  • Corrosion.
  • Painting.
  • Engine room systems (Engines, Hydraulics, -Electronics, Electric systems).
  • Vibration’s measurement.
  • Shaft alignment.
  • Non-destructive tests for penetrating liquids on shafts, propellers, rudders).
  • Sea trials.
  • Megger test.

Project Management

The figure of the Project Manager is important for supervising the work carried out during the Refit or repair of a vessel.

Often yacht owners are not satisfied with the Refit or repair work that has been carried out on their vessels and very often the problem is because poor communication between the different shipyard-owner parties and sometimes lack of supervision.

We offer a Refit supervision service and repairs, in order to guarantee that the work carried out is done with the highest quality standards expected in the nautical industry, it is important that the projects are completed in the agreed time. and within the agreed budget.

Sea trials

Sea trials and navigation are part of the projects of:

  •  Refits
  • Repairs
  • Pre-purchase of any type of vessel sail or motor.

Sea trials are carried out to check the proper functioning of the repaired systems, new systems installed, diagnosis of possible anomalies and vibrations, etc

A sea trial test is the only real way to test the ship’s systems and equipment in real working conditions, in different states of the sea, different RPM regimes of the main engines, calculating consumption and autonomy, operation of rigging and sails, etc. … and thus check the proper functioning of the vessel.

Valuation and appraisal

It is used for legal, financial, buying, selling and insurance purposes.

Appraisals by a Qualified Surveyor are often required to obtain an insurance quote or to buy and sell a boat.

When preparing a valuation, factors such as the age, model, taxes, general condition, and location of a boat are taken into account.

Damage assessment

After an accident or natural disaster.

We are often tasked with assessing the cause, nature, and extent of damage after an accident or natural disaster.

If necessary, we provide specifications to repair the boat and supervise the work.

Tonnage and length measurement

For yacht registration.

Most countries in each flag require a tonnage measurement certificate as part of the registration process. We conduct tonnage measurement studies for a variety of registries.

The length, beam and draft of a ship should be measured before applying a formula to obtain the gross and net tonnage.

Yacht delivery service and captain-relief

  • Yacht delivery service and captain-relief.
  • Captain-relief service is provided for long-distance transfers, sick leave, or captains’ rest periods.
  • We have a wide portfolio of professional captains with extensive experience in all types of boats (demonstrable experience).
  • Piloting service for any type of sea trial.
